A little about us…
The cafe first opened in 2019 but changed hands in 2022. We are a family run small business with 16 cats that have grown up in the cafe, eight of them being born here in 2020 to Chloe and Marmalade. You can find out more about them on our ‘Meet the mogs’ page!
The days are never dull at The Mad Catter as our cats provide constant entertainment during their every day shenanigans. To meet the mogs in real life, call us on 07904 973166 to book a session and avoid any disappointment!

FAQs
-
Our £5 entry pp goes towards our cats’ care and well-being. It is vital for us to receive these funds to ensure our cats are thoroughly looked after.
-
We have a minimum age requirement of 6 years old to keep both the cats and young children safe. This includes babies!
-
We run on session times to ensure everyone can meet the cats without it being too overwhelming for them. We allow a maximum of 20 people in the cafe at any one time. We ask everyone to arrive and leave on time so we can clean and prepare for our next session.
-
Call us on 07904 973166 to book your table! We book up very quickly during the holiday periods so we always recommend giving us a call before you make your journey to avoid disappointment.
-
You can donate on our website by heading over to the homepage and scrolling down. Click on donate and follow the steps! Alternatively, you pop into the cafe when we’re open and leave a donation then.
-
We have 16 altogether! Check out our ‘Meet the Mogs” page for more information.
-
Most of them are related in some way. Check out our ‘Meet the Mogs’ page for more information.

Our cats are not up for adoption as they are family, not just to us, but to each other. The cafe is their home and we couldn’t ever separate them, however, you can book in to visit us when we’re open anytime!
-
The cafe is situated in the centre of town so letting them outside to roam is just too dangerous and not worth the risk for us. We also don’t have the facilities to accommodate a Catio. Our cats have always been inside and they have all the space they need to run about, climb and do what cats do! They have 2 floors to go between with plenty of toys, hammocks, ladders, etc…
-
Marmalade, Cherri, Toast, Chloe, Gin, Tonic, Dita, and Audrey were all the original cats at the Mad Catter. During lockdown Marmalade and Chloe had a litter of 8 making 16! All of our cats are now spade and neutered so no more unexpected kittens.
-
As much as we love other fur babies, cats can be quite protective of their territories. We’ve been extremely lucky that our cats all get on so well but we couldn’t say the same for other cats coming into their personal space. It’s best that your cats and any other pets stay at home during your visit. You are more than welcome to send in pictures of your babies so we can post them to our Instagram!

Very much so! This is their home first, so we ask our customers to treat them and their home with the respect they deserve.
